HWC Day 42 - Europe Wrap-Up

Objective:  Investigate the unique aspects of Basque culture.  Examine the history of the Balkans.  Discuss and analyze the complex history of the Crimean Peninsula.   

Task:  Today, we'll finish our studies of Europe with an examination of the Basque culture, the tumultuous history of the Balkans, and the Crimean.  First,  we'll spend a few minutes exploring the Basque culture.  Then, you'll explore the Balkans and the complex geo-political history of the region.  Next, you'll read an article and analyze a map of the Crimean peninsula. Using the article and map, you'll work with a partner to answer some questions.  If there is any time remaining, we'll review for the mid-term exam.
