CPWC Day 31 - Arab-Israeli Conflict

Objective: Sort out key events relating to the Arab-Israeli Conflict and current issues in the Israel-Palestine conflict.  Examine and discuss veiling in the Middle East.

Task: Today we will examine the Arab-Israeli conflict in greater detail. You will receive a timeline chart for which there are 11 dates. In pairs or groups of three, you will log on to the BBC News "History of Conflict" link. You will research the date that you are assigned to identify the event that is associated with your date.  Then, take notes on the event focusing specifically on how this fits into the history of the Arab/Israeli conflict. Write out your notes on the provided board.  After all posters are completed, you will rotate around the room visiting each poster and recording the notes to fill in and complete the timeline chart.  Finally, we will review the timeline as a class. At the end of class we will read and discuss From Tunis to Tehran. The reading questions for this article are due tomorrow on a separate sheet of paper.
