HWC Day 39 - Map Quiz, Columbian Exchange, & Absolutism

Objective: Assess knowledge of European geographic features, countries and capitals. Identify the motivations of European explorers in the Columbian Exchange.  Assess the impact of the Columbian Exchange on the Americas and Europe. 

Task: Today, we'll begin class with your Europe map quiz. Please clear your desks and spread out to different seats. When you're finished with the quiz, you'll examine on the primary source document Divine Right of Kings and answering the corresponding questions. Next, we'll consider the motivations of European monarchs in the 15th and 16th centuries and the Columbian Exchange. We will watch two short video clips:

Lastly, we will use a map and other resources to understand the positive and negative consequences of the Columbian exchange.

• At least 8 edits & 8 discussion posts on your team wiki

• Tuesday, April 1 - Mid-term Exam (study guide distributed on Monday, March 24)
