HWC Day 41 - Industrial Revolution

Objective: Identify the factors that contributed to the start of the industrial revolution in Great Britain.  Examine the social implication that resulted form the Industrial Revolution.  

Task: You will be looking at two different articles that explain the social, economic, political and geographic features of Great Britain that facilitated the rise of the Industrial revolution in the 1750s.  As you read you will be completing a graphic organizer and then identifying some of the technological advancements and social changes of the 18th and 19th centuries. Then, we'll look at an excerpt from the Communist Manifesto as a reaction to the changes of industrialization. With any remaining time you can work on your Flat Connections Project or your regional study.

Homework:
  • Friday, March 28 - Regional study due by 11:00 am
  • Tuesday, April 1 - Mid-term Exam (study guide distributed on Monday, March 24)
  • Wednesday, April 2 - Continued, consistent edits and comments to wiki (screencast w/ an explanation at HWC Day 34)
