HWC Day 28 - Monotheism in the Middle East

Objective: Assess knowledge and understanding of "Roots of Muslim Rage" article. Compare and contrast key components of the monotheistic religions in the Middle East.

Task: As you come into class, please clear your desks and separate your seats in preparation for your quiz on the "Roots of Muslim Rage." You will have 20 minutes to take the quiz and will have access to your reading guide notes for ten minutes. When you finish the quiz, please hand it in and pick up a copy of "Heirs of Abraham."  Read, highlight, and make notes on the article.  When all students have completed the quiz, we will spend the remaining hour of class in two station activities. One station will use "Heirs of Abraham" to complete a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting the three major religions of the Middle East (Christianity, Islam and Judaism). The second group will complete a vocabulary footloose activity. Each group will switch after 20 minutes. With the remaining time we will review the vocabulary and Venn Diagram and play some Africa Map Games.
