WestCiv Day 35 - Napoleonic Era

Objective:  Chronicle the developments and course of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era.

Task:  Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will need to move the debate scheduled for today to tomorrow.  Instead, you'll watch and take notes (by hand - no computers!) on "The Napoleonic Era."  Then, you'll spend the next portion of class examining various interpretations of Napoleon.  If there is time remaining at the end of class, please test your own military skills with the Interactive Battle Simulator.

Homework:
  • TODAY - Nationalism PDP's
  • Tuesday, 3/19 - Debate #1 - Was the French Revolution worth its human costs?
  • Tuesday, 3/19 - Nationalism PDC's
  • Wednesday, 3/20 - Debate #2 - Was Napoleon a hero or a tyrant?
  • Thursday, 3/21 - Unit 5 Test
  • Monday, 3/25 - Debate #3 - As much as it may have contributed to Great Britain’s, and eventually the world’s, material prosperity, the Industrial Revolution, considered from a spiritual, moral, and environmental point of view, was a disaster.
