HWC1.2 Day 30 - FCP, Chronology, & Conflict

Objectives:  Continue posting research to the FCP Diigo group and begin contributing to the FCP13-1 wiki.  Create a timeline to mark significant developments in the region.  Discuss Orientalism and
its role in western perceptions of North Africa and Southwest Asia

Task:   As you pick up your computers, please place your "Perspectives" packet on the computer cart.  We'll spend the first 15 minutes of class working on the Flat Classroom Project.   Remember that I expect to see daily contributions to the wiki and the discussion threads from each of you.  You need to finish adding information to the wiki by March 15.  Then, you'll work with your group to edit until March 20 when your student leaders will proof and finalize the wiki.

After you put the computers away, we'll finish up the timeline notes.  Next, we'll discuss the implications of the perspectives charts and Orientalism.  We'll also color a map of Israel and the disputed lands.  Finally, we'll end class with notes on "Autonomy, Modernization, & Conflict in the Middle East."
