HWC10.11 Day 32 - Central Asia, Arab-Israeli Conflict, & Modernization

Objectives:  Assess knowledge and understanding of Central Asia.  Examine Zionism and other nationalist movements in the North Africa and Southwest Asia.  Identify and evaluate significant events in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Task:  As you come into class, please get out your computer and pick up the two worksheets on the computer cart.  We'll spend the first 30 minutes of class taking a reading comprehension quiz on chapter 10 of Globalization & Diversity.  When you've finished the quiz, be sure to email the results to jessica.friday@svpanthers.org AND to yourself.  Then, return the computers and complete the worksheets that you picked up at the beginning of class.

We'll use the Israel map to examine the Arab-Israeli conflict.  Finally, we'll end class with notes on the trends that have shaped the Middle East in the past century.
