HWC1.2 Day 29 - FCP, Chronology, & Genocide

Objectives:  Continue posting research to the FCP Diigo group and begin contributing to the FCP13-1 wiki.  Create a timeline to mark significant developments in the region.  Explain the strengths, weaknesses, and eventual decline of the Ottoman Empire, including the Armenian genocide.

Task:   We'll spend the first 15 minutes of class working on the Flat Classroom Project.   Remember that I expect to see daily contributions to the wiki and the discussion threads from each of you.  If you notice that there are still students who are not participating on the wiki, please send me an email with the student names and topic/category (#/letter).  Also, if you haven't looked at the "Wiki Editing & Collaboration Rubric" recently, be sure to check the grading criteria.

To transition back to the Middle East, you'll spend a few minutes investigating the Ottoman Empire on the Moodle.  Then, we'll take a few minutes to watch and discuss "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)."   Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class taking notes on the history of the Middle East and discussing the Armenian genocide.
