Task: When you come into class, please get out a pencil and clear off your desk in preparation for your digital literacy quiz. You'll have 15 minutes to complete the quiz.
When you've finished the quiz, please turn it in on the computer cart. Then, get out your computer, log on, and play a map review game until everyone is finished with the quiz.
After everyone has finished, we'll go to the AW80B blog. We'll spend a few minutes of class signing on to the master Flat Classroom Project wiki. Be sure to follow proper FCP naming conventions - first name, last initial_SVHS (ex. JessicaF_SVHS). For the optional comment, type "I am an SVHS student from Mrs. Friday's class participating in FCP13-2." (See step-by-step illustration below.)
Next, I'll lead you through the process of setting up your Feedly reader. Although I encourage all of you to personalize your Feedly, I ask that you add the following news feeds in a "News" folder: http://watchingamerica.com/News/, http://www.nytimes.com/pages/world/index.html, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/, http://www.pbs.org/newshour/topic/world/, and http://www.csmonitor.com/. Also, in an "HWC" folder add the AW80B blog.
After everyone's returned their computers, we'll play a game to review the map of Africa. Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class considering the historiography of Africa and imperialism in Africa.
