Task: As you come into class, please get out your homework. As I come around to collect "Why are maps important?" use "What is Culture?" to complete the review sheet. After we discuss the article, we'll continue with our notes on culture and apply our understanding of culture through the study of a dollar bill.

Current Events Preparation: In preparation for Friday's current events discussion, read "World Humanitarian Day: 5 Crises and How You Can Help" Then, find at least two news stories that expand upon an issue addressed in this article. For Friday's current events activity, come to class prepared with your articles and at least 5 comments and 3 questions written out.
