Soc Day 6 - Theoretical Perspectives: Functionalism

Objective:  Investigate the lives and ideas of the pioneers of sociology.  Examine the ways society impacts everyday behavior.

Task:  We'll spend the first portion of class taking notes on the theoretical perspectives.

Finally, we'll spend the second half of class working on the "Pioneers of Sociology" project.  If you finish your research early, please read "The Net Generation"

Homework:
  • Wednesday, April 9 - Pioneers of Sociology posts due on VoiceThread BEFORE class starts
  • Wednesday, April 9 - Pioneers of Sociology works cited (minimum of three sources with at least 1 print source) due in NoodleTools by 3:00 
  • Thursday, April 10 - "The Echo Becomes the Net Generation" (Grown Up Digital excerpt) reading quiz (post discussion questions & reflections to Moodle forum by 7:00 pm Wednesday)
  • Friday, April 11 - Unit 1 Test
  • Friday, April 11 - Pioneers of Sociology reflection posts due on VoiceThread by 3:00 pm
