Objective: Assess knowledge and understanding of East Asia reading assignments. Continue to examine the social, political, and economic changes in Japan. Identify similarities and differences between China and Japan in their response to the West.
Task: We will begin class by finishing our group notes on Japan from yesterday. Once we have finished the guided note sheet, you'll take your reading quiz. When you have finished your quiz, you'll start a reading China and Japan Respond to the West. As you read the article underline the differences between Japan and China. Then study the primary sources. After you've examine the primary sources, you'll log onto the computer and respond to questions on the Moodle. Then we will finish class by creating a Venn Diagram that compares and contrasts the similarities and differences between China and Japan's responses to Western influence in Asia.
