CPWC Day 50 - Brief History of Japan

Objectives: Investigate the status of Japan in the medieval period and changes under the Tokugawa Shogunate. Assess the social, political, and economic changes in Japan.  Identify the justifications for Japanese expansion.

Task: Good morning!  We'll wrap up our studies on China and communism by finishing the final segments of PBS'sTank Man documentary. Next, we will begin on our examination of Japan. You will be getting into groups and working with materials to answer questions based on a specific era of Japanese history. You will work with your partners to pull out the important information and then you'll teach your classmates about your topic. By the end of class, after all groups have presented their findings, you will all have complete note sheets on Japan's history.
