HWC Day 7 - Culture & Historical Periodization

Objective:  Define history and the social sciences as they will be utilized in HWC.  Trace the development of humanity from the origins of man to the 21st century.

Task:  Happy Friday!  We'll begin class with notes on the elements of culture.  Then, we'll get into groups to review the information from "Becoming Human" and identify questions that need to be answered.  Finally, we'll end class with an activity examining different ways to organize the study of history.

Homework:

• TODAY - Watch & take notes on "Becoming Human" interactive documentary BEFORE class begins
• Friday, January 31 - Foundations Investigation due by 3:00 pm
• Monday, February 3 - Be ready to discuss/review Primer in class
• Tuesday, February 4 - Primer vocab quiz
• Wednesday, February 5 - Imperialism study, chart, and diagram due in class
• Thursday, February 6 - G&D chapter 1 reading quiz
• Friday, February 7 - Unit 1 Test
