HWC Day 4 - GGS Quiz & Collaboration

Objective:  Assess knowledge and understanding of GGS.   Define history and the social sciences as they will be utilized in HWC.  Collaborate in a Web2.0 environment to create an informative presentation.

Task:  We'll begin class with your Guns, Germs, & Steel reading quiz.  You will have a 40 minute time limit which includes a 10 minute window with your reading notes.  When finished, please go to the class blog and comment to the Academic Integrity post.  Next get out your Primer to work on your notes for your group project.

Finally, you'll join your Primer group to begin collaboration on your storyboard and script.  As you work, please keep the following points in mind:

1. Each group will create an audio-visual podcast explaining your assigned topic.
2. The purpose of the presentation is to help your classmates understand the main ideas of your assigned section.
3. The presentation must be at least 3 minutes and no more than 4 minutes in length.
4. Be sure that you double check the rubric for grading criteria.

• Wednesday, January 29 - View & take notes on "Critical Thinking" podcast BEFORE class
• Wednesday, January 29 - Class time for jigsaw collaboration - notes and scripts should be prepared BEFORE class begins
• Thursday, January 30 - Primer podcast due by 3:00 pm
• Friday, January 31 - Foundations Investigation due
