WHAP Day 15 - Period 2 Introduction

KC2.2.1.   The number and size of key states and empires grew dramatically as rulers imposed political unity on areas where previously there had been competing states.
  • ENV2 - Explain how environmental factors, disease, and technology affected patterns of human migration and settlement over time.
  • SB6 - Explain the political and economic interactions between states and non-state actors over time. 
Objectives:  Establish a foundation for studying period 2.  

Task:  Good morning!   We'll begin our exploration of period 2 (600 BCE-600 CE) with a short activity examining the period 2 key concepts.    Then, you'll begin a mapping activity to identify important locations for periods 1 &2.   Finally, we'll spend the last portion of class reviewing your period 1 test.

  • YESTERDAY - Annotations & SOAP Analysis of Flood Stories
  • TODAY - Period 3 PAW
  • Tuesday, September 19 - Period 4 PAW
  • Tuesday, September 19 - LS Chapter 7 &  8 assignments due by midnight
  • Wednesday, September 20 - Completed "Mapping Periods 1 & 2" due in class
  • Wednesday, September 20 - LS Chapter 9, 10, & 11 assignments due by midnight
  • Friday, September 22 - Final Day to Complete OPTIONAL Period 1 SAQ Re-Do
  • Wednesday, September 27 - Period 3 PAW
  • Thursday, September 28 - Period 4 PAW
IMPORTANT:  To complete the LS assignments for chapters 7 -11, you will need to follow the registration instructions and use the code that was emailed to you.  Also, you will need to download the "SmartBook" app.
