CPWC Day 22 - Imperialism & Nationalism in Africa

Day 4 - Paw 4

Objective:   Assess knowledge and understanding of the map of Africa.  Examine the course and impact of imperialism in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Task:   Hujambo! When you arrive to class, please get out a piece of scrap paper and answer the question below:
What is NATIONALISM?  Is it a positive or negative force?
After everyone's had the opportunity to answer the question, we'll finish our review of the "Scramble for Africa."   Then, we'll have a brief discussion on your thoughts about nationalism before moving on to our studies of nationalism in Africa.

Homework Due Dates:  
  • TODAY - Completed "Resistance, Nationalism, and Independence" due IN CLASS
  • Friday, September 29 - Period 5 PAW
  • Friday, September 29 - Report directly to the library for class
  • Wednesday, October 4- Unit 2 Test (study guide posted to Schoology on or before Thursday, September 28)
  • Tuesday, October 10 - Period 5 PAW
