IMPORTANT REMINDER:  Today's class will meet in room E213 due to Keystone testing.

Objective:    Summarize the impact of imperialism on the people and cultures of Southeast Asia.  Examine totalitarianism, nationalism, and democracy in Myanmar.

Task:  As you come into class, please get out a blank piece of paper.  Label the paper with your name, today's date, and "Unit 7: Killing Fields Viewing Notes."   Write down the following questions:

  1. What is the role of the international community before and during the rule of the Khmer Rouge?
  2. How does the Khmer Rouge take over Cambodia?
  3. What is the role of the media?
  4. Make note of anything that you think is important and/or that you have questions about.

As you watch the film, take notes to answer the questions, to record important information, and to list questions that may arise.
