HWC1.2 Day 71 - Research & Topic Development

Objective:  Identify the parts and qualities of a strong thesis.  Utilize library resources to develop research and reflection topic.

Task:  As you arrive at the library, please get out a computer.  We'll spend a few minutes reviewing the qualities of a good thesis statements and the process of topic development.  You'll use the remainder of class to work on your research and reflection essay.

Homework:
  • TODAY - Topic development including thesis statement, subtopics, questions for exploration, and annotated works cited (in GoogleDoc & shared w/ Mrs. Friday & 2 peers) due by 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday, 5/15 - FCP13-1 Awards Ceremony at 8:00 am
  • Wednesday, 5/15 - Comments to topic development due by 3:00 pm
  • Thursday, 5/16 - Australia & Oceania map due in class
  • Thursday, 5/16 - Chapter 13 reading quiz (reading notes may be used)
  • Friday, 5/17 - Outline (in GoogleDoc & shared w/ Mrs. Friday & 2 peers) due by 3:00 pm
  • Monday, 5/20 - Report to E213
  • Monday, 5/20 - Comments to outline due by 3:00 pm
  • Tuesday, 5/21 - Report to E213
  • Wednesday, 5/22 - Chapter 14 reading quiz (reading notes may be used)
