Objective: Identify and label countries, cities, bodies of water and major geographic features of Sub-Saharan Africa. Compare and contrast the portrayal of Africa and Africans in American popular culture to political, social, and cultural realities.
Task: After you record the daily objective, we'll spend a bit of time playing a game to review the Africa maps. Then we'll spend some time in a discussion circle to review Part B of the Africa Regional Study. Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class examining the historiography of Africa with a lecture/discussion on the implications of agency and periodization.
