CPWC Day 17 - Africa Geography & History

Objective:  Describe the impact of European colonialism and western imperialism on the people and cultures of Africa.  Evaluate the agency of various people and groups in Africa during the Age of Imperialism (1850-1950).

Task:  After you've copied down the daily objective, we'll spend the first part of class reviewing the map of Africa.  Next, we'll review "Scramble for Africa" and consider the continuing impact of colonialism as presented in Uganda Rising.  Finally, we'll begin our investigation of the role of nationalism in securing independence for African states.
