HWC Day 56 - From Mughal Rule to Partition

Objectives:  Evaluate the historical developments of South Asia.

Task:  Good afternoon!  When you arrive to class, please work with a partner to compare the religions of Islam and Hinduism.  After a brief discussion,  we'll continue our notes on the history of South Asia.  We'll also spend time analyzing Kipling's, "White Man's Burden."  Finally, we'll end class with a discussion on partition.

Homework:
  • TODAY - Partition Answers, Observations, & Reflections due IN CLASS 
  • Friday, May 1 - Part B (Competing Nationalisms) of Regional Study due
  • Friday, May 1 - Historical question (see "Developing Historical Questions" on HWC Moodle) posted to class blog
  • Monday, May 4 - Part D (Caste Out) of Regional Study due
  • Tuesday, May 5 - Part A (Sri Lanka) of Regional Study due
  • Thursday, April 30 - R&R part I outline due in GoogleDocs & shared with Mrs. Friday & peer reviewer by 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday, May 6 - R&R current events sources (from at least 3 different, international news sources) annotated and ADDED to "HWC Spring 15 R&R" NoodleTools dropbox (Please begin each current events annotation with CE).
  • Thursday, May 7 - R&R part I peer reviewer comments due in GoogleDoc by 3:00 pm
  • Friday, May 8 - Unit 6 Test
  • Monday, May 11 - Kundun Extra Credit submitted to Moodle by 3:00 pm
