HWC Day 46 - Japan in World History

Objective:  Identify the causes and consequences of Japanese expansion in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Task:  Ohayo!  When you arrive to class, please pick up a piece of paper from the podium and get out your notebooks.  We'll spend the first few minutes of class on a quick homework check.  Then, we'll form a circle for a discussion of select developments in Japanese history.  Finally, we'll end class with the fishbowl discussion.

Homework:
  • TODAY  - Meiji Restoration fishbowl discussion (see explanation at HWC Day 39)
  • Thursday, April 16 - Chapter 11 reading quiz (reading notes may be used)
  • Friday, April 17 - "Top 10 Things to Know About Korea" reading discussion
  • Friday, April 17 - R&R Topic & 2 Sources due on spreadsheet
  • Monday, April 20- Unit 5 Test
  • Friday, April 24 - Field trip to Museum of Jewish Heritage, NYC
  • Monday, May 11 - Kundun Extra Credit submitted to Moodle by 3:00 pm
