CPWC Day 56 - Gandhi & News from Nepal

Objective:  Investigate the life and contributions of Mohandas Gandhi.  Examine the social and political impact of recent events in Nepal.

Task:  Good morning!  Today, we're going to explore the life and contributions of one of the most influential individuals of the 20th century.  Specifically, we'll consider the Mohandas Gandhi's as a nationalist and activist for peace.

For the second portion of class, you'll work with a partner to learn about recent events in Nepal.  With your partner, use one or more of the news sources below to answer the following questions:

  1. What natural disaster occurred in Nepal this weekend?
  2. How is this event impacting Nepal?
  3. What is the international community doing in response to this disaster?

Write BOTH of your names and answers on a piece of paper.  Be sure to hand in your responses before you leave class.

  • TODAY - Chapter 26, section 1 reading notes due (if you were here on Friday, these notes were already checked)
