Task: We'll spend the first few minutes of class reviewing the Middle East. Then, we'll spend next portion of class delving into the Sunni-Shia split and the term "jihad."
After we review the chronology and connections packet, we'll spend some time examining the Arab-Israeli conflict with a map of Israel and the disputed territories. Finally, we'll spend the last portion of class discussing Orientalism and the perspectives packet.
