Soc Day 2 - Foundations of Sociology

Objective:  Investigate the lives and ideas of the pioneers of sociology.  Examine the ways society impacts everyday behavior.

Task:
As you come into class, please get out your computer and pick up a playing card.  To start class, you'll join VoiceThread and I'll explain the "Pioneers of Sociology" project.  Then, we'll begin to develop the mindset of a sociologist.  You'll reflect on and discuss how various groups have influenced you at various stages in your life.  Then, we'll continue our notes introducing sociology.

You'll use the second half of class to begin your research on the pioneers of sociology.  Follow the directions on the Moodle and the collaborative GoogleDoc to gather information. By Thursday, you should have your script completed so that you can record your response in class.
