HWC1.2 Day 42 - Contemporary Issues in Europe

Objectives:  Investigate the political and social revolutions that emerged in Europe beginning in the mid-eighteenth century.  Examine contemporary social, economic, and political issues in Europe. Provide constructive feedback to classmates on storyboards.

Task:  As you come into class, please get out your FCP video storyboard, find a partner, and take the first few minutes of class to review and discuss your plans for the video.  Next, we'll finish the video on the French Revolution and review the main ideas for this time period.  Then, we'll spend some time examining the Industrial Revolution and social responses to the social, political, and economic shift.  Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class reviewing the Europe regional study.

Homework:
  • Tuesday, 4/2 - Europe regional study due (on Moodle)
  • Tuesday, 4/2 - FCP video storyboard due
  • Wednesday, 4/3 - G&D Chapter 8 reading quiz
  • Wednesday, 4/3 - FCP outsource request & outsource clip "claim" due (be sure to hyperlink your name to your FCP Ning page)
  • Thursday, 4/4 - Mid-Term Exam
  • Monday, 4/8 - Unit 4 annotated research sources (3 news stories,  2 primary sources, 1 scholarly journal & 1 secondary source) - Please create a new project in NoodleTools entitled "Europe R&R" and share it with the HWC1.2 Research & Reflection dropbox.
  • Monday, 4/15 - FCP outsource clip due on FCP Ning BEFORE class begins & linked on FCP wiki by 3:00
  • Wednesday, 4/24 - FCP final video due on FCP Ning (by 7:30 am)
