Objective: Examine the emergence and implementation of totalitarianism in North Korea. Compare contemporary societies in North and South Korea.
Task: We'll begin class with a brief discussion of "Top 10 Things to Know About Korea." Then, we'll use the article to create an overview of historical and cultural developments in Korea. For the next portion of class, we'll watch Inside North Korea. Finally, if there is time remaining in class, we'll review expectations for your historical question. You can refer to last year's class blog for samples of historical questions.
