Task: Good morning! When you arrive to class, please pick up the South Asia map from the front cart and use your textbook and colored pencils to complete the map. After we spend some time discussing your close reading homework, you'll participate in a demonstration to explore the relationship between land area and population. Finally, for the last portion of class, you'll get out your computer and pick up the South Asia Investigation from the computer cart. Use the resources linked below and on the Moodle to work through the packet. Before leaving class, you'll complete and turn in a 3-2-1 exit ticket.

- Part II - Monetary Unit Exchange Rates
- Oanda Currency Converter Select USD (US Dollar) as the "Currency I have" and 1 for the amount in the left column. In the right column, select the country to find the name of the currency and the current exchange rate.
- Part III - Considering Social, Economic, and Cultural Indicators Use the bar graphs, pie charts, and maps in the "South Asia Investigation" PowerPoint on the Moodle to answer the questions.
- Optional Extension - What would your life be like if you lived in South Asia? Go to http://www.ifitweremyhome.com/ and select a country. The website will display a brief list of indicators to illustrate the different standards of living around the world.
