HWC Day 25 - Geography & Monotheism

Objectives:  Explain the ways in which geography, resources, and cultural heritage have shaped the region.  Identify key components of the monotheistic religions that emerged in Southwest Asia.

Task:  After you've recorded our daily objective, we'll review our geography stations from yesterday.

Then we'll spend some time examining the roots of monotheism in Southwest Asia with a directed research activity on the Moodle.

Tech Refresh:  Posting a Bookmark to "HWC Fall 2012"  Diigo Group
Step 1: Find a relavent news story or website.  For this unit focus on the "Arab Spring" and the changes occurring in North Africa, Southwest Asia, and Central Asia as various groups compete for power & control.  Some search terms may include (but are not limited to): democracy in Egypt, conflict in Syria, Israeli & Iranian posturing, civil war in Yemen, Bahrain protests, democracy in Tunisia.

For example,  I found the document below using GoogleSearch for "women's rights in Saudi Arabia."

Step 2:  After finding a relevant source, bookmark to the "HWC Fall 2012" Diigo group with an annotation.
