HWC Day 35 - Map Quiz, Absolutism, & Enlightenment

Objectives:  Assess knowledge of the geography of Europe.  Investigate and report on the accomplishments of select individuals from the Age of Absolutism and the Enlightenment.

Task:  When you arrive to class, please clear your desk of everything except for a pen or pencil.  You'll spend the first portion of class completing the Europe map quiz.  After you've finished, please get out a computer and work on our Absolutism & Enlightenment project:

  1. Find your assigned topic on the VoiceThread to identify important accomplishments.
  2. Use ABC-Clio World History: Modern and/or Gale Biography in Context ONLY to research your topic.
    • Expand on/explain the information on the slide
    • Describe how this individual/event shaped AND reflects the era
  3. Post your information in a concise comment (audio or text) to the appropriate page of the VoiceThread (you must be logged into VoiceThread to post).
  4. Navigate through the VoiceThread to read and take notes on the information. 
  5. Make sure to bring a physical copy of your notes to class tomorrow.
If you finish early, please work on your essay or the study guide for your mid-term exam.

  • Wednesday, April 1 - Mid-Term Exam
  • Tuesday, April 7 - HWC Quarter 1 Essay submitted as PDF by 3:00
  • Friday, April 24 - Field trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, NYC
