HWC Day 23 - Establishing Historical Context

Objectives:  Examine the effect of geography, resources, and early history of Southwest Asia, Central Asia, and North Africa.

Task:   When you arrive to class, please pick up the worksheets on the podium.  Please complete these two worksheets.  After we review your answers, we'll use the recent developments in the Levant as a pivot in which to explore the early history of Southwest Asia.  Then, we'll take notes on the origins of monotheism and begin our explorations of the Abrahamic religions.

  • Tuesday, March 10 - "Heirs of Abraham" - 4 multiple choice questions to Mrs. Friday by 3:00
  • Tuesday, March 10 - Part I of Regional Study due in class
  • Wednesday, March 11 - Perspectives in History charts due (extra credit due by 3:00)
  • Wednesday, March 11 - Part IV of Regional Study due in class (complete this BEFORE the "Perspectives in History" packet)
  • Thursday, March 12 - Part III of Regional Study due (this provides some insight/background into the Bernard Lewis article)
