Soc Day 27 - Gender & Ageism Quiz

Objective: Assess knowledge of gender and age as a social construct.

Task:  We'll begin class with your quiz on gender and ageism.  As you finish the quiz, please pick up the "Analyzing Data" worksheet and race vocabulary sheet.  Use your textbook to answer the questions and define the terms.  If you finish both of these activities, pick up and begin reading "When Did Jews Become White Folks." Next, I'll introduce the reflection essay assignment. We'll spend the last portion of class discussing race as a social construct.

  • Monday, May 19 - Reflection thesis statement due in class
  • Thursday, May 22 - Race & ethnicity quiz
  • Tuesday, May 27 - Reflection outline due in class
  • Tuesday, June 3 - Reflection essay due in class
Reflection Essay:  Use your notes and class activities to write an essay reflecting on social class, gender, and race in America.  (See rubric for grading criteria)
