HWC10.11 Day 3 - Collaboration, Critical Thinking, & More Tools

Objectives: Define history and the social sciences as they will be used in HWC.  Collaborate in a Web2.0 environment to create an informative presentation.

Task:  As begin our first collaborative project, we will take advantage of this opportunity to discuss the differences between collaboration, cooperation, and copying.  Further, we'll spend some time examining  the process of critical thinking.  We'll define and identify the steps for 'critical thinking.'

Then, after a brief introduction to GoogleDocs, GooglePresentations, and SlideRocket, you will work with your group to create your presentation.  As you are creating your presentation, consider the following:
  1. Although you will all have access to the SlideRocket presentation, only one person can edit at a time.
  2. The purpose of the presentation is to help your classmates understand the main ideas of your chosen section.  The presentation should complement the summary.
  3. The presentation must be at least 3 minutes but no more than 4 minutes in length.
  4. Be sure that you double check the rubric for grading criteria.
You will also have the majority of class on Monday to create your presentation but ALL presentations must be completed by 3:30 Thursday.
