Objective: Apply knowledge of culture to explore individual elements.
Task: As you arrive to class, please get out and review your notes from yesterday. After attendance is complete, we'll briefly review the cultural regions map. Then, we'll finish our notes on the elements of culture and I'll explain the 7 Elements of Culture project. Finally, we'll end with a reading about culture. As you read, please utilize close reading strategies:
- Highlight main ideas
- Underline supporting details
- Put a "?" next to any ideas that you don't understand
- Put a "*" next to any ideas that connect to previous learning
After you finish, please answer the questions that follow the reading.
If you finish early, please begin work on your 7 Elements of Culture project.
Homework:
- Friday, September 11 - Narrative, drawing, or captioned photograph detailing 7 elements of culture submitted to Schoology dropbox by 3:00 pm
- Monday, September 14 - Unit 1 Quiz (Themes of Geography, Characteristics of Culture, Elements of Culture, Cultural Regions Map)
