CPWC Day 52 - History of Japan

REMINDER:  NHS food drive for the New Jerusalem Food Bank runs until December 20. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.

UNICEF members will be collecting donations for typhoon Haiyan relief efforts during all lunches this week.

Objective:  Assess the causes and consequences of Japan's expansion in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Task:  Today, we'll spend the first part of class taking notes on the history of Japan.  Please get out some paper and a pen or a pencil.  After taking notes, we'll spend some time analyzing the "Rescript on Education."   Next, you'll get out "Japan & China Respond to the West" and re-examine the text for content and meaning.  Finally, you'll go on the Moodle to watch a "movie" providing more details on China and Japan.
