HWC Day 53 - FCP Keynote & Japan Timeline Review

IMPORTANT:  Due to concerns about traffic, our departure time for the field trip on 11/28 has been moved up to 7:00 am.  This means you will need to be at school by 6:50 for attendance so the bus can leave promptly at 7:00.  Our return time will be around 2:30.

Please be sure to dress professionally and to wear comfortable shoes for our trip on Wednesday.  Also, you MUST bring a packed lunch to eat on the trip.  You will not have time or access to any place where you can purchase lunch.  Finally, there is a gift shop in the museum IF you choose to make a purchase.

Objectives:  View and reflect on the FCP12-2 keynote address.  Discuss and analyze the Japan timeline.

Task:  After you've recorded the daily objective, please get out your laptop and store it under your desk.  We'll begin class by viewing the FCP12-2 keynote address by Chris Betcher.  As we watch the video, please consider the following questions:
1) What is your story of global collaboration? As a teacher? As a student?
2) How important is it to have a global collaborative experience before leaving high school?
3) In the school of the future, do you think ALL school levels (K-12) should have a global collaborative experience? Why?
4) What are the advantages for later in life of being globally minded and understanding the world through connections with others?

Then, we'll post reflections to the FCP Ning.  While we're on the wiki & the Ning, we'll finish up posting & linking our final videos.

Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class examining the Japan timeline for continuities and changes.
