HWC Day 48 - Religions, Philosophies, & History of China

Objective:  Examine the influence of indigenous religions and philosophies on East Asian history and culture.

Task:  At the beginning of class you will submit your China timeline.  While I'm checking  timelines for completion, you'll read an article and answer questions on the tradition of footbinding in China.  After homework has been checked, we'll take notes on the religions and philosophies of East Asia.  Finally, we'll spend the last part of class discussing the trends and aberrations in China's history.

  • Friday, November 16 - "Women's Roles in China" due
  • Friday, November 16 - Field trip permission slip due
  • Monday, November 19 - FCP video "draft" due in class for peer review
  • Wednesday, November 21 - Final FCP video due in class to upload to Ning & post on FCP wiki
  • Wednesday, November 21 - Japan Timeline Due (see Moodle for instructions)
  • Tuesday, November 27 - Transnationalism reading quiz
  • Wednesday, November 28 - Field trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage (NYC)
  • Wednesday, November 28 - Chapter 11 reading quiz results e-mailed to Mrs. Friday by midnight
  • Thursday, November 29 - Meiji Restoration Fishbowl Discussion
  • Friday, November 30 - "Top 10 Things to Know About Korea" reading due
  • Monday,  December 3 - Unit 5 Test
