CPWC Day 53 - Contemporary China

IMPORTANT:  Due to concerns about traffic, our departure time for the field trip on 11/28 has been moved up to 7:00 am.  This means you will need to be at school by 6:50 for attendance so the bus can leave promptly at 7:00.  Our return time will be around 2:30.

Please be sure to dress professionally and to wear comfortable shoes for our trip on Wednesday.  Also, you MUST bring a packed lunch to eat on the trip.  You will not have time or access to any place where you can purchase lunch.  Finally, there is a gift shop in the museum IF you choose to make a purchase.

Objective:  Evaluate the impact of the events at Tiananmen Square in 1989 on the present state of China.

Task: After you've recorded the daily objective, please get out your computer and log into the Moodle.  Scroll down to unit 5 and find "Tank Man" Live Blog.  We'll be using this live blog as we view "Tank Man." You will be expected to post at least 5 appropriate, pertinent comments to this blog during the video.  After the video, we'll learn about the current power shift in China from the news clips below.  Finally, you'll post a reflection on contemporary China to a forum on the Moodle.
