WHAP Day 139 - Comparing Gandhi & Mao

Day 2 - PAW 2

Objectives:  Compare the methods and ideologies of Gandhi and Mao. 

Task:  Good morning!  When you arrive to class, please find a partner and create a graphic to compare the ideas of Mao and Gandhi.  After you've finished your comparison, you'll find a new partner, share your information and then create a graphic to compare the Salt March and the Long March.  Finally, you'll write a thesis statement in response to the prompt below:


Using specific examples, analyze the similarities and differences between the methods of Mohandas Gandhi and Mao Zedong in their struggles for independent states in the first half of the twentieth century.

If there is any time remaining, you should begin working on the Spanish Flu reading, due tomorrow, or "Colonization and Independence in Africa" for Monday.
