CPWC Day 47 - Religions & Philosophies of East Asia

Day 3 - PAW 3

Objective:  Describe significant contributions of the Silk Road.  Compare and contrast the religions of China (Daoism, Confucianism, Buddhism).

Task:  Good afternoon!  When you arrive to class, please clear your desk of everything except for a pen or pencil and your i-Pad with "Exploring the Silk Road" on the screen.  You'll spend the first few minutes of class completing a short comprehension check.

After you finish, please turn in your paper at the back of the room and download "Comparing Religious Traditions in China" (in the Religions & Philosophies of East Asia folder).  Use your viewing notes to begin filling in the diagram.  When everyone has completed the Silk Road check, we'll review your comparison before delving into the Mandate of Heaven and Legalism.

Finally, we'll use the last portion of class to begin working on "Condensed History of China" (in the "History of East Asia" folder).  This assignment is due on Monday!

Homework Due Dates:
  • Due ASAP - "Rick Steves: Luther & the Reformation" viewing guide
  • TODAY - Watch & take notes on "Traditional Religions of China" (in "Religions & Philosophies of East Asia" folder) BEFORE class
