HWC Day 77 - Social Classes & Independence in Latin America

Objectives:  Evaluate the social hierarchy of colonial Latin America.  Discuss various paths to independence in Latin America.

Task:  Buenos dias!  We'll spend the first few minutes of class discussing the historical significance of Toussaint L'Ouverture.  Then, we'll divide into groups to analyze paintings illustrating social classes in Latin America.  Finally, we'll end with an examination of independence movements in Latin America.

Homework:
  • Wednesday, January 13 - Unit 8 PDCs due on class blog 
  • Thursday, January 14 - Cumulative review map quiz (Africa, Europe, & Latin America)
  • Friday, January 15 - Bring headphones to class!
  • Friday, January 15 - Unit 8 SJSs due on class blog
  • Friday, January 15 - Last day to submit PDP/PDC and SJS rubrics to Schoology
  • Tuesday, January 19 - LAST DAY to complete missing assignments
  • Tuesday, January 19 - "Looking at History" EC due in Schoology by 3:00
