WHAP Day 2 - Periodization & Other Skills

Day 2 - PAW 2

Objectives:  Explore the process and purpose of historical periodization.  Identify AP History Disciplinary Practices & AP History Reasoning Skills.

Task:  Greetings!  To start, I'll answer any questions or address any concerns you have about the course, the syllabus, or the exam.  Then, we'll finish and build upon yesterday's activity with an exploration of historical periodization.  Specifically, you'll work in small groups to examine and discuss "Considering Historical Periodization."  Finally, for the last portion of class, we'll examine the AP History Disciplinary Practices & Reasoning Skills for WHAP.

Homework Due Dates:
  • TODAY - Read "WHAP Syllabus" in General Information folder of Schoology BEFORE class
  • TODAY - Student Information form (in General Information folder) due by 3:00 pm

  • Wednesday, August 30 - Read "Periodization - Bernard Lewis" OR "History is Important - Crabtree" (in Establishing Context folder) BEFORE class
