HWC Day 26 - Exploring the Sunni-Shia Divide

Objectives:   Examine the impact of geography on the history, culture, and development of North Africa, Southwest Asia, Central Asia, & Transcaucasia.  Investigate the similarities and differences between Sunni & Shia Islam.

Task:  Good afternoon!  We'll begin class with a brief discussion on Orientalism and I'll answer any questions you have about "Roots of Muslim Rage."  Then, you'll use select resources to investigate the Sunni-Shia divide.  Finally, to end class, you'll work with a partner to interpret political cartoons.
