Task: We'll begin today's class with an activity to review and apply the elements of culture. Then, you'll take the quiz on culture. When you've finished the quiz, please turn it in on the computer cart, get out your computer, and pick up the cause & effect chart. Use the "Unit 1 - Geography, Culture, and History Notes" to complete the chart. After you've completed the chart, please pick up the National Geographic article by Thomas Hayden and write a summary at the end of your cause and effect chart. Finally, we'll end class with a review of the cause and effect chart.
Extra Credit Opportunity: Watch the Olympics opening ceremonies and identify five elements of culture. Write a paragraph (minimum 6 sentences) describing the manner in which culture was displayed.
