HWC Day 67 - Library & Nationalism


Objectives:  Begin gathering library resources for the research/reflection essay.  Appraise the various ways in which tradition and modernization interact in South Asia.

Task:  We'll begin class in the library.  Miss Ziemba will give you a brief overview of resources and tools that will be useful as you construct your essay.  Then, you'll have time to gather library resources. For period 2, you'll return to the classroom to watch and complete  a video guide for "Soul of India."

Homework:
  • Wednesday, December 19 - Meet at Library (for period 1 only)
  • Wednesday, December 19 - Unit 6 Test (study hints on Moodle)
  • Thursday, December 20 - Culture Food party  (please fill out GoogleForm BEFORE Tuesday, December 18)
  • Thursday, December 20 - Topic development (in GoogleDoc & shared w/ Mrs. Friday & 3 peers) due by 3:00
  • Friday, December 21 - Comments to topic development due by 3:00
  • Wednesday, January 2 - Kundun & Gandhi extra credit due
  • Thursday, January 3 - Source cards & note cards due
  • Friday, January 4 - Outline (in GoogleDoc & shared w/ Mrs. Friday & peer reviewer) due by 7:00 pm
  • Sunday, January 6 - Comments to outline due by 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, January 8 - Rough draft (in GoogleDoc & shared w/ Mrs. Friday & peer reviewer) due by 3:00
  • Wednesday, January 9 - Comments to peer draft due by 4:00
  • Friday, January 11 - Extra credit for research essays turned in by 3:00
