Task: Ohayo! As you arrive to class, please get out your Japan notes. We'll begin class with some notes on Japan. Then, to reinforce the impact of the Meiji Restoration we'll examine the Rescript on Education. Finally, after finishing our notes on Japan, you'll pick complete a close reading assignment comparing Japan and China. You'll use your notes and the reading to create a clear, concise thesis identifying similarities and/or differences between these two East Asian states.
