CPWC Day 48 - Considering East Asia

IMPORTANT:  The fall food drive is taking place now.   Please bring donations to your pd. 4 class. There are many people in our community that can use some help!

Purpose:  Consider domestic changes in China and the impact on the international community.  Label political and geographic features of East Asia.

Pd. 3-4 Task: Ni hao!  When you arrive to class, please upload your notes to the appropriate dropbox in Schoology.  We'll begin class with a short activity comparing China and the US.  After you write a brief reflection, we'll continue our exploration of East Asia with some notes on the religions and philosophies that have shaped the region.  Finally, you'll use the remainder of class time to work on your East Asia map.

Pd. 6-9 Task: Ni hao!  When you arive to class, please upload your notes to the appropriate dropbox in Schoology.  Then download "China Inside Out" viewing notes.  For the first portion of class, you'll watch and take notes on a news film about the changes going on within China.  After the film, you'll write a concise summary and submit your work to the dropbox in Schoology.  Then, you'll spend the remainder of class completing the East Asia map.

  • TODAY - Chapter 27, section 1 reading notes due in class
  • Wednesday, November 9  - Chapter 27, section 3 reading notes due in class
  • Thursday, November 10  - Chapter 28, section 2  reading notes due in class
  • Friday, November 11 - Chapter 29, section 1 reading notes due in class
  • Monday, November 14 - Chapter 29, section 1 reading notes due in class
  • Tuesday, November 15 - Unit 5 reading quiz (27.1, 27.3, 28.2, 29.1, 29.2 - two-sided, hand-written index card may be used)
  • Friday, November 18 - Unit 5 Test
