Day 4 - PAW 4
Objectives: Examine the history of Sub-Saharan Africa. Discuss the agency of Africans and Europeans in the fate of Africa. Evaluate the causes and course of nationalism in 20th century Africa.
Task: Hujambo! When you arrive to class, please move the desks into a circle in preparation for a discussion and grab a whiteboard. Open up "Whose Dream Was it Anyway?" and identify the "examples" (listed by Crowder) of European liberal democracy. After a brief discussion, we'll delve into the ideas and accomplishments of select African nationalists. Finally, if there is any time remaining, we'll begin to examine the Mau Mau revolt in Kenya.
